Jaguar XKR-S (2011) at 2011 Geneva motor show

Jaguar has turned up the power and sharpened the handling on the flagship XKR coupe for the 2011 Geneva motor show. The result: the XKR-S, claimed to be the fastest production Jaguar sports car ever. For 2011, Jaguar is returning the XKR-S to the top of the XK range. CAR readers may recall the well regarded 2008 limited edition that last carried the badge.  The XKR-S has an uprated version of the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 found in the standard XKR. Power moves up to 542bhp (from 510bhp), and torque swells to 501lb ft (up from 461lb ft) thanks to lots of ECU tweakage.

Nissan GT-R SpecV – UK and Europe launch

The £124,900 Nissan GT-R SpecV for the UK It’s almost a year since Nissan announced the GT-R SpecV for the Japanese market – and ten months since it went on sale – but they’ve just announced a limited run of Nissan GT-R SpecV for the UK and European markets. Just 40 will be produced at a slightly pricey £124,900 – more than twice the price of the Standard Nissan GT-R. Vast Private Collection To Go Under The Hammer

AN AUCTION of more than 1,000 lots all from the same collection is due to go under the hammer later this month. The collection belongs to Michael Banfield, who has amassed a huge collection covering the history of the car in the UK. Among the earliest cars for sale are a 1904 Mors Roi de Belges, which is in perfect working order, ready to be used and is estimated to make £500,000.
