Detroit Autorama to host Golden Commandos and Ram Chargers drag-racing teams
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Plenty of race-car drivers and automaker executives still remember the mantra, “Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.” The Golden Commandos and Ram Chargers, two drag-racing teams that embody that motto, will make an appearance at the Detroit Autorama at Cobo Center on March 8, from 1-2 p.m. According to Chrysler, this is the only time they have appeared together since competing on the strip in the late 1960s. The Golden Commandos group was started in 1962 by Chrysler technicians, mechanics and engineers who worked in Highland Park, Mich.
Chrysler sold in £3.76 billion deal

In one of the biggest private equity deals seen in the automotive industry, Cerberus Capital Management has purchased 80.1% of Chrysler in a £3.76billion deal, leaving DaimlerChrysler with the remaining 19.9% stake in the loss-making company. The move marks the close of arguably the most high-profile transatlantic merger and shuts the door on Canadian car assembly giant Magna and billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, who last month offered £2.27billion for Chrysler.
Citroën to unveil DS4 Racing 'concept'
Fri, 24 Feb 2012Citroën is set to debut its all-new DS4 Racing concept at next month's Geneva show as part of its evolution of the DS lineup. The concept, developed by Citroën Racing – the company's seven-time WRC winning motorsports division – is host to a range of new features courtesy of the Citroën Racing engineers. The chassis has been lowered by 35mm from that of the DS3, with the track being widened by 55mm at the front and 75mm at the rear along with the inclusion of 19-inch wheels.
