Koenigsegg Agera R claims world speed records

Sat, 03 Sep 2011

Koenigsegg Agera R claims world speed records We are constantly amazed at what the three men in a shed in the snow in Sweden that are Koenigsegg Automotive AB can achieve. All the way from the first Koenigsegg, the CC8S,  to the very latest, the Koenigsegg Agera we got up close and personal with at Goodwood this year, and it’s bonkers big brother – the Koenigsegg Agera R. From the CC8S to the Agera R, Christian von Koenigsegg has always trod his own, very particular, path to supercar performance.

New Vauxhall Astra (2010) – the Tease

Tue, 12 May 2009

The new Vauxhall Astra - teased ahead of a launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show [ad#ad-1] You’d think Vauxhall would have better things to do with the current GM mess than torment buyers with teaser shots of the new Vauxhall Astra. But, just like every other car maker lately, they seem to think that this is the way to lead-in to a launch. This time we’ve got a variation on a theme, with the New Astra being ‘Disguised’ by getting the car’s designers to drape themselves (and their paperwork) strategically over the car.

Watch the 2,000-horsepower Banks Freightliner jump five cars

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

Mike Ryan does amazing things with the Banks Freightliner. And with Pikes Peak still half a year away, Ryan settles for practice in the Long Beach docks in "Size Matters 2." He weaves the semi in and out of boxes, does donuts in the same tight radius as a matte-black 240SX (driven by stuntman Daniel Leavitt, who ironically shares his name with a reckless driving attorney in Virgina), and dodges even larger trucks. (No Dodges, though there's the Freightliner connection.) All the elements of Ken Block's Gymkhana videos are here: the screeching electronic music, the moody industrial setting, the gratuitous slow-motion.
