This is the bracket that the headlamps and headlamp bucket assemblies sit in and is attached to braces that attach to the radiator - front fenders crossmember/support. Mazda reveals Mazda2 EV with range-extender Wankel rotary engine It’s long seemed logical that a compact Wankel rotary engine – running at a constant speed – would be a great way of fitting electric cars with a range-extender option. Audi flirted with the idea of fitting the A1 e-tron with a Wankel engine a couple of years ago, but that got shelved. And Mazda – keepers of the Wankel flame – came up with the idea of a Wankel engine bolted in to an EV and powered by hydrogen last year, but it seems to0 have gone nowhere.

Audi develops new A2; plans for U.S. unclear

Audi is developing a reincarnation of the A2 small car that will slot between the A3 and the A1 minicar introduced in Geneva last week. "There's clearly room for another product and another concept between the A3 and A1," Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said on the sidelines of the Geneva auto show. Michael Dick, Audi's board member for technology, said in an interview that the company's push to add electric variants will play a role with the next-generation A2 "in the near future." The German media have reported that the A2 is expected by 2014.

BYD e6 electric-taxi fire kills 3 after high-speed collision with Nissan GT-R

A BYD e6 electric taxi burst into flames following a collision with a Nissan GT-R in the Chinese city of Shenzhen on May 26. China Car Times reports that the driver of the GT-R might have been drag-racing while intoxicated. The Nissan was reportedly traveling at between 90 mph and 125 mph when it hit the BYD.
