Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Nine-time motorcycling Grand Prix World Champion Valentino Rossi has teamed up with Opel to create a special version of its Adam city car. On Bing: see pictures of the Vauxhall Adam Find out how much a used Vauxhall Adam costs on Auto Trader The car has been created with charity in mind, and will be donated to the not-for-profit Meyer Children’s Hospital Foundation – the unique Adam will go up for auction at a fundraiser this December, with all proceeds going to the organisation.

McLaren plan to make windscreen wipers obsolete

Sun, 15 Dec 2013

McLaren plan to make windscreen wipers obsolete Much of the ‘clunkiness’ in cars – stuff like wind-up windows and a cranking handle – have been made obsolete in cars as technology arrived to make things work better, but one thing that remains on modern cars from the dawn of the motoring age is the windscreen wiper. Invented by Mary Anderson in 1903 after she realised drivers of the first motor cars were having to lean out of the window in rainy conditions to see where they were going, it became a standard fitting on all cars within a few years. Windscreen wipers have certainly improved over the years as technology has developed, but they’re still basically a strip of rubber moving across the windscreen to clear rain.

Strate College degree show 2009

Wed, 01 Jul 2009

Graduating students from Strate College in Paris, France displayed their final projects in a degree show held at the school's temporary facility late last month. Founded in 1993, the school has outgrown its rented facility and is in the process of relocating to a new purpose-built facility, which will be completed at the start of the next school year. Of the 60 students studying various disciplines, the design exhibition also included the works of 16 students in the Transportation Mobility program.
