We think Gordon – creator of the McLaren F1 – is on exactly the right track for City Cars – either the T.25 or it’s electric sibling the T.27 – looking to create cheap to manufacture, small, light and very strong cars powered by either a small, 3-pot engine or by an electric motor. Subaru Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 (2010) revealed

This is the new Cosworth Impreza STI CS400, a limited edition Subaru tuned and tweaked by one of F1’s most famous names. It costs nearly £50k, and will hit 62mph in 3.7 seconds. A flood of new-model introductions this year will help pump sales volume for the industry, according to forecasts from J.D. Power and Associates. Automakers have scheduled 60 new or substantially redesigned model introductions this year, compared with just 36 in 2010, by Power's count.
