First Motorway Service Station Pub opens on M40

But now, amid some controversy and complaints from safety groups, JD Wetherspoons has opened the first pub at a motorway services, with the Hope and Champion open for business at Beaconsfield Services on the M40. The Hope and Champion will be open from 4am to 1am, seven days a week, and serve the usual JD Wetherspoons fodder of passable meals and drinks and, say JD Wetherspoons, a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee.

General Motors to shut down Saab

General Motors has announced that it will be closing the Saab brand after the company was unable to strike a deal with Spyker Cars. This follows from last month's withdrawal of would-be suitor Koenigsegg, leaving Spyker the sole contender in the acquisition of the ailing Swedish brand. John Lennon's Ferrari won't be sold

The John Lennon Ferrari, a blue 1965 "Quad Headlight" 330 GT 2+2, reported as serial number 06781GT, will not be offered for sale on Saturday as scheduled. Citing a case of "vendor's remorse," a Bonhams representative said this was a last-minute decision on the part of the seller.
