CAR Most Wanted of 2014: Ferrari 458 Speciale
Mon, 23 Dec 2013By the CAR road-test team First Official Pictures 23 December 2013 10:50 The first time we checked out the Ferrari 458 Speciale, it was parked tantalisingly in the bowels of the Ferrari’s Maranello factory. Tech boss Roberto Fedeli told us how Ferrari had calculated the Speciale would be an even higher performer: 10% lighter, 11% faster response, 40% quicker through the gearbox, and squeezing out an extra 34bhp from its 4.5-litre V8. Since then, we’ve driven the 202mph 458 Speciale, which Ferrari claims is different (not better than) a 458 Italia, and designed to appeal to a different kind of customer.
One Lap of the Web: Diesels, Deadmau5, Excalibur and Excelsior!
Mon, 03 Feb 2014-- It's the 50th anniversary of Excalibur, the company with fine craftsmen who keep the neoclassical motoring dream alive, or in some vaguely zombielike semblance thereof. And while the Excalibur's retro vibes arose from the mausoleum of the Mercedes-Benz SSK, Hemmings has discovered Brooks Stevens's other neoclassic: the Excalibur 35X, meant to look like a Bugatti Type 35. Just 27 were built in Italy on the chassis of Opel Commodores, fitted with inline-sixes.
Bentley slaps on a 5 per cent price hike for UK Cars
Thu, 26 Feb 2009Bentley are raising UK Car Prices by 5% from 1st April 2009 I’m sure all us Brits still think of Bentley as a good old British Car Producer. But when we pause and think we remember that they are in fact part of VW, and therefore very much a European car maker. Which explains why, despite the cars being bolted together here, Bentley feels the need to put UK Car prices up by 5% from 31st March, due to the current weakness of Sterling.
