2014 Suzuki Swift SZ-L Special Edition launches

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

The 2014 Suzuki Wift SZ-L (pictured) comes in blue or black metallic

We know why car makers churn out special editions, and they can be a great buy if the extras they boast float your boat. But do we have to get the same ‘special edition’ name badge every couple of years? ‘Black’ and ‘White’ editions abound from almost every car maker and, although Suzuki may not have gone that route with the Swift SZ-L Special Edition, it’s the exact same ‘Special Edition’ name they used just a few years ago.

Still, with a spec based on the SZ3 – which includes nice-to-have goodies like AirCon and Bluetooth – the SZ-L also gets LED running lights and Cruise.

But the visible bit of the special edition SZ-L is the 2-tone metallic paintwork in either Boost Blue or Cosmic Black with a Cool White roof, back spoiler and door mirrors. But on the inside all that seems to have changed is the addition of silver stitching.

But at prices from £10,899 for the three door  1.2-litre Dual VVT 94PS (and £11,316 for the 5-door) thanks to Suzuki’s never-ending ‘VAT Free’ promo – and with group 11E insurance and 56.5mpg – the Swift SZ-L is a good candidate for a first car or just a city runaround.

The Suzuki Swift SZ-L Special Edition goes on sale om March 1st 2014.
