Boom Mat’s new Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining was designed primarily for automotive engine compartments as a way to greatly reduce heat and noise with a simple and easy peel and stick application.  Extreme engine heat and noise often is a problem with today’s modified vehicles packed with high performance components.

Made of ¾” thick, high quality, marine grade acoustical foam with a fiberglass reinforced reflective aluminum skin while the 5 mil acrylic adhesive provides a permanent bond. Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining not only insulates the underside of the hood for sound deadening and thermal control, it also protects the vehicle's paint finish. Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining can also be used as noise control applications such as on generator boxes and many industrial uses including HVAC applications.

Use as a heat and noise barrier to control under hood temperatures.

  • Insulate from heat while reducing noise & vibration
  • Peel & stick application
  • Protects paint finishes
  • Resists oil, water and contaminants
  • 3/4” thick

McLaren 650S Spider (2014) first official pictures

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

Given how closely the 650S coupe is based upon the 12C, it’s no surprise to see the 650S Spider looking very much like a 12C: same folding hard-top roof, same 40kg weight penalty, same boasts by McLaren that the carbon tub needs no extra reinforcing for its role in a cabriolet. Though the 650S Spider is 40kg heavier than the hard-top and has some of its P1-echoing aerodynamic talent spoiled by chopping the top off, it’s still a very fast piece of kit.
