These halon fire extinguishers are designed for fixed installation in a relatively closed area. The unit consists of a cylinder, a charge of extinguishant, a pressure gauge, and a sprinkler head for automatic discharge. Traditional powder extinguishers simply try to smother a fire with its material where as a clean agent extinguisher releases an agent that instantly turns into a "heavier than air" gas that instantly extinguishes the fire. Because it leaves no residue behind and is completely non-corrosive, these extinguishers are perfect for marine, rv, auto, farm, and heavy equipment with solid enclosures.

Tyre warning for drivers heading into Europe

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

BRITISH DRIVERS could face on the spot fines for using the wrong tyres when travelling in Europe this winter. Severe winter weather in many European countries means the normal summer tyres fitted to most UK cars will not offer enough grip for safe driving or braking in icy or snowy conditions. In Germany and some ski resorts, drivers are liable to on-the-spot fines if their car is not equipped with winter tyres or their car becomes stuck in slippery conditions due to the wrong tyres being fitted.

EPA calls for lower-sulfur gasoline

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

The EPA proposed a package of rules Friday that includes cleaner gasoline and stricter limits on pollution from the tailpipes of cars, despite objections from the oil industry. The rules, known as Tier 3, have been supported by car companies because they would bring U.S. standards into alignment with those of California, where gasoline must have a lower sulfur content to help reduce tailpipe emissions.
