Volkswagen XL Sport Concept gets Ducati power: Paris 2014
Thu, 02 Oct 2014The Volkswagen XL Sport Concept (pictured) gets Ducati power The Volkswagen XL 1 may well be an impressive ‘Supercar’ (that’s super-economical, rather than plain ‘super’), but it’s a daft amount of money and, unless you’re trying to make a ‘Green’ statement, not for everyone. But this Volkswagen XL Sport Concept is a more appealing car – both visually and mechanically – as VW take the XL 1 and rework it in to a sports car with a little help from Ducati. Because under the skin of the XL Sport lies a 197bhp V2 that’s come from Ducati (just as we reported a year ago) and delivers 197bhp through a seven-speed dual-clutch ‘box, with a reduction gear between engine and gearbox to boost torque, revs to 1,000 rpm and can get to 62mph in 5.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 157mph.
Kia Soulster concept unveiled at Detroit auto show 2009
Mon, 12 Jan 2009By Ben Pulman Motor Shows 12 January 2009 13:48 To rub salt into the wounds of the beleaguered Big Three, Korean manufacturer Kia unveiled its own version of the iconic American pick-up truck at the Detroit auto show. But rather than a ultilitarian flat-bed, the Soulster concept is something at the very other end of the scale, designed to drum up interest in the Soul (on which it's based) before the B-segment baby goes on sale later in 2009. The Soulster concept was penned at Kia’s LA design studio – where the original Soul concept was created – and while there are no current production plans, company insiders have said that the right reaction from American customers could see the Soulster become a reality.

Wed, 13 Mar 2013In what’s thought to be an industry first Jaguar main dealer Stratstone is selling classic Jaguars supplied by specialists Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth. The world of classic cars is one that isn’t normally immediately accessible to buyers of new cars; the classic car world is thought of by many as a world of men with pipes and leather patches on their elbows inhabiting their own secret world of a bygone day. But with classic cars proving to be one of the soundest investments you can make – as long as you choose well – it’s a world buyers of new premium cars could to well to look at, especially with the tax breaks classic car investment brings, never mind the joy of owning a mobile work of art.
