Hyundai enlists Flaming Lips for Super Bowl ad

The Sonata ad was a trifle of pedestrian whimsy, while the Genesis sedan R-Spec spot grated, grated and grated some more. Now, with the kickoff looming, the Korean automaker's loosed its marquee ad, promoting the 2013 Santa Fe, upon the YouTubifying unwashed.

Press leaving Chrysler, report says

Chrysler Group Deputy CEO Jim Press is planning to leave the company before the end of the year, according to a report Friday by The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed sources. Press, 62, is expected to leave before December, one of the newspaper's sources said. Chrysler spokesman Gualberto Ranieri declined to comment on the paper's report.

As a major paint supplier of Detroit's big three, PPG would commission every year a car to be used as a pace car in the Indy Car World Series. In 1984 Chrysler began the development of a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive car using an experimental powertrain. To avoid the costs of creating a whole new chassis, the M4S is based on a modified Huffaker tubular chassis with full roll cage taken from the Pontiac Fiero IMSA race car, only lengthened to a 100-inch wheelbase.
