Michelin Challenge Design 2009

Tue, 20 Jan 2009

As the 2009 Michelin Challenge Design - focusing on the search for ‘America's Next Iconic Vehicle' - drew to a close at the NAIAS in Detroit, culminating in a press preview and an exhibition of scale models, the theme for next year's competition was announced: ‘Electrifying! Beautiful, Innovative and Radiant'. Land Rover Defender LXV celebrates 65 years of Land Rover

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

As part of the celebrations at Packington Estate – which was the original testing ground for the 1948 Defender prototypes – Land Rover are launching a celebratory Defender special edition – the Land Rover Defender LXV – based on the standard Defender and available in five different body styles and with the 2.2 litre diesel engine and 6-speed manual ’box. The Defender LXV gets the sort of toys no one could ever have envisaged on those early Defenders, including a Santorini Black or Fuji White paint job with Corris Grey roof, grille and headlight surrounds, full leather seats with orange contrast stitching, lots of ‘LXV’ badges and even the option of a Union flag on the back. John Edwards, LR’s Global Brand Director, said: Land Rover is celebrating 65 years of proud heritage.

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 15 September 2009 09:00 Ford showed off the seven-seat Grand C-Max at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show - marking the first time the Blue Oval has nudged into the territory hogged by Renault (Grand Scenic) and Vauxhall (Zafira). The new Ford Grand C-Max has sliding doors, another first for the Blue Oval in this segment, to help passengers climbing into the two rows of rear seats. No more excuses for dinged door panels in car parks!
