Tesla Elon Musk, the CEO of the pioneering electric carmaker Tesla, has announced that the company is to "open source" all its technology patents in order to speed up the progress of electric car development. In an extraordinary press statement entitled 'All our patents are belong to you' – a reference to online memes and gaming culture, in case you were wondering – Musk has categorically stated that Tesla will not challenge any company that takes advantage of its technology when building rival electric cars.   Tesla gives away electric car technology: will not sue Having recently reviewed the Tesla Model S, this sounds great news for the future of the electric car, but commercial suicide for Tesla as a business.

New Jaguar XJ – best photo yet

The best picture yet of the new Jaguar XJ - due to be revealed in July Due to be shown officially in July, before a full presentation at Frankfurt in September, the new Jaguar XJ is designed to take the fight to BMW, Audi and Mercedes. And if how it looks is anything to go by Jaguar will have another big success on its hands, to go along with the XF. Although based on the existing XJ’s lightweight chassis (nothing wrong with that) but with a back end which is very much derived from the XF,  the car is totally re-skinned, and looks finally how a modern Jaguar luxury saloon should.

Suzuki puts kibosh on Kizashi sedan, report says

Japanese automaker Suzuki has backed off plans to build large cars and build assembly plants overseas, according to a report in the Nikkei business newspaper. Suzuki has shown a series of concept vehicles named Kizashi that executives said were pointing toward a production version of a large sedan. And pictures of sedan protoypes have been captured by spy photographers.
