Mon, 13 May 2013As a result, Volvo has been planning a new range of four-cylinder engines to power their range in the future – the new Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) – and has spent the last couple of years readying their design – and their facility in Skövde – to start production. Archie and his wife Judy spent Friday at the Festival of Speed with Jaguar hospitality thrown in. But the highlight of the day was a ride in the new Jaguar XKR 75, sitting alongside Jaguar’s chief chassis guru and driving legend Mike Cross, as he slithered and rocketed up Lord March’s front drive.
Marvel’s Captain America car by Daniel Simon [w/Video]
Tue, 04 Sep 2012Automotive designer and futurist Daniel Simon has had his vehicle design from ‘Captain America: The First Avenger' featured in a short animation. This 10-wheeler 1942 supercharged V16 Coupe, the personal car of Marvel's villain Johann Schmidt (the Red Skull), is 7,620 mm long and was inspired by cars such as Mercedes' 540K and the G4. The director's instructions for the car's size led to a truck chassis having to be used for the practical film version.
