Ford Fiesta S2000 rally car (2010) revealed
Thu, 19 Nov 2009Ford isn’t planning an ST or RS Fiesta, but this is the next best thing – the Ford Fiesta S2000 rally car. Built by M-Sport - the same team behind the WRC Focus - it’s Ford first global rally car. The Fiesta is eligible to enter national rally championships, as well as the IRC and S2000 World Cup in 2010, and will also form the basis of Ford’s WRC effort in 2011. It will debut as a course car at next week’s Rally of Scotland, the final round of this year’s IRC.

On the cool scale, this is an 11--despite associate editor Julie Alvin's opinion in our “Top 10 Date Cars” feature--and you can buy it now through our friends at Bring A Trailer for just $33,000. The Acura NSX (New Sportscar Experimental) debuted at the Chicago auto show in February 1989 and in Tokyo in October of the same year.

Solar panels on the roof of a car aren't anything new -- the Fisker Karma used them to power the radio and other in-car accessories, to cite a soon-obscure example.
