The Turanza EL42 is a Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for Original Equipment use on sporty coupes and luxury sedans, as well as crossover utility vehicles and family minivans. It was developed to blend some of the looks and handling of a performance tire with the low noise and ride comfort associated with a passenger tire, as well as provide all-season traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even in light snow.

The Turanza EL42 molds an all-season tread compound into a symmetric tread design featuring siped rectangular tread blocks that combine snow biting edges with dry road stability. Lateral and circumferential tread grooves evacuate water out from under the tire''s footprint to reduce hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. The tire''s internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to stabilize the tread area and enhance treadwear, handling and durability. The Turanza EL42 features a polyester cord body to provide a smooth ride.

Chris Harris finds the McLaren P1 “a whole new thing” (video)

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Chris Harris and McLaren’s Chris Goodwin in the McLaren P1 We know the McLaren P1 is exceptional, and we’ve heard almost the same ‘game changer’ dialogue from anyone who’s driven it. We’ve also seen the McLarenj P1 on the move in the recent Top Gear with Jeremy scaring himself witless in Belgium as his brain came to terms with the awesome 903bhp at the P1′s disposal on a less than forgiving Spa circuit in damp conditions. But what we have here – in case you’ve not seen it elsewhere – is a video review of the McLaren P1 from Drive’s Chris Harris, and it does the best job we’ve seen of explaining just why the P1 is so special and why it’s “…a whole new thing”.

Prices will start at £56,495, positioning the new Cadillac CTS-V just below the new Jaguar XF-R (£59,900) and comfortably undercutting German rivals such as the BMW M5 (£63,325) and Audi RS6 (a fulsome £74,550). Performance figures for the CTS-V make interesting reading, with 60mph being dispatched in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 191mph for the manual car (175mph for the automatic).

Audi RS7 Dynamic Edition is an expensive styling package

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

How much dynamism does one man need -- nay, deserve? Audi attempts to answer that with the RS7 Dynamic Edition, a trim package for the current RS7, which is pretty dynamic to begin with. The Dynamic Edition provides no power or suspension upgrades over the regular RS7, preferring to merely look more dynamic (as a proof-of-concept from the "Audi exclusive" program).
