College Exhibition: Coventry University MA Degree Show 2005
Fri, 20 Jan 2006Jan 20, 2006 - 'Fifteen' was the title for Coventry University's 13th MA Design Degree Show, held at Coventry's Transport Museum December 2-9. The title signified a recurring theme: 15 Automotive Design students, 15 months programme duration for the first time, "15 minutes of fame". Graduates from the USA, India, China, Korea, Greece, Lebanon and the UK, made for a strong international flavour in the diversity of the final designs. 2005 was sponsor Corus' ninth year of involvement with the show, and the fifth year they have held a forum to coincide with the opening of the event.
Goodwood Moving Motor Show: (almost) an unqualified success
Fri, 02 Jul 2010The Goodwood Moving Motor Show Yesterday we toddled along to Goodwood to see the set up for this year’s Festival of Speed and to have a look at the Moving Motor Show in action for the first time. We also – courtesy of Jaguar, who had invited us for the day – got an early drive up the hillclimb-based circuit that forms part of the Moving Motor Show’s appeal for the lucky ones who got the opportunity to take the wheel of one of the impressive bunch of cars on display. And it was an impressive bunch, with everything from the Toyota Auris Hybrid to the Rolls Royce Phantom DHC via the Audi R8 and the new Jaguar XJ on offer to drive.
Land Rover-designed Santa's sleigh (2009)
Tue, 15 Dec 2009The Land Rover-designed sleigh for Father Christmas, penned by Florian Dobe By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 15 December 2009 22:22 Today it’s the turn of Land Rover to show off its version of Santa’s sleigh. Father Christmas’s go-anywhere 4x4 delivery wagon was sketched out exclusively for CAR Online – as part of our Christmas 2009 special feature.Submitted by Oliver Le Grice, Land Rover’s chief designer of advanced design, and designed by Florian Dobe, the Land Rover sledge is designed to deliver presents to all corners of the Earth. The Midlands design HQ has helpfully attached a spec sheet, letting us know this Land Rover has height adjustable suspension (presumably controlled by the brand’s Terrain Response controller) and a hitherto top-secret powertrain option: a particle accelerator.
