CAR interviews Karl Schlicht, Toyota and Lexus product chief (2014)
Mon, 07 Jul 2014By Damion Smy Motor Industry 07 July 2014 11:07 CAR magazine interviewed Karl Schlicht, the product chief at Toyota and Lexus, to find out how one of the world's biggest car makers is fighting to make its cars more engaging. Read on for our full interview.
Vauxhall Ampera price cut by £3,500
Tue, 10 Sep 2013The Vauxhall Ampera (pictured) drops in price by £3500 Although we still feel the range-extender is the right way for car makers to go to get the car buying public to accept EVs, the range-extender Vauxhall Ampera has not exactly been a runaway success. Despite Vauxhall offering potential Ampera buyers the option of trying it for 30 days and handing it back if they don’t like it, the Ampera has failed miserably to sell in any sort of volume. So, with new competition on the way from the range-extender BMW i3, Vauxhall are taking drastic action to try and tempt buyers in to the Ampera and are slashing prices by £3,500.
De Tomaso Deauville
Tue, 22 Mar 2011The revival of the DeTomaso name sparked an instant nostalgic focus on the infamous Pantera supercar. The Deauville, as unveiled at Geneva, was anything but the low-slung two-seater that people were anticipating. Penned by Pininfarina, the Deauville is a luxury sport sedan, meausing in at over 5000mm in length and almost 2000mm in width; the car seemingly attempts to blend genres, resulting in a high riding, four-wheel drive sports hatch.
