  • Affordable starter is constructed with longer-life bearings than OEM
  • Many OEM starter motors have an unprotected output needle bearing on the outside of the output shaft's seal; moisture can and does enter the output cap of the electric motor and follows the armature shaft to the unprotected output needle bearing, which corrodes the bearing
  • Rick's takes the extra step of installing a double-sealed ball bearing, with the output shaft seal on the outside of the bearing in their new aftermarket unit
  • This simple application of common-sense engineering does two things: first, the outside bearing is now protected from damaging water entry, and second, the sealed ball bearing is replaceable

    The fourth annual Auto Design Prague conference will take place on 18 September at the National Technical Library in Prague-Dejvice. The event is open to professionals and the wider public, and will include a program of 10 presentations by designers including vice president of Ferrari design, Flavio Manzoni; Volvo design director Thomas Ingenlath; Jaguar's advanced design director, Julian Thompson, and Qoros head of design, Gert Hildebrand.     Bob Wallace, Lamborghini’s first ever test and development driver, has passed away in the Italian supercar manufacturer’s 50th anniversary year. He was 75. New Zealand-born Wallace played a key role in the development of the firm’s road cars between 1964 and 1975, having joined the company initially as a mechanic.
