Selling my working stereo out of a 2001 Subaru Outback VDC.  What you get is the Double Din McIntosh, made by Clarion, model PF 23431A CD Receiver with weather band, the 5 Channel Amplifier McIntosh EF-1080i and the hard to get 13 pin DIN cable.

here is a link to a video I made a day before I removed it from my dash:

Link to Video showing the unit in action

It was shot with an iPhone so you might need Quicktime to view it.  It shows it going through all the functions.  The tuner, the CD and a Tape.

The cosmetic condition is very good, I feel.  There are no real scratches that I see on it.  The "1" preset button is a little harder to push than the others, but it works fine. The amplifier is the McIntosh EF-1080i Amplifier in perfect working order.  This combo will also fit any other car that has a double din opening.  The Amplifier takes the 4 channels of preamp output from the head unit and outputs to 5 channels.   Please feel free to ask any questions.

Note that you do not get the dash surround nor the ventilation controls, that is just to show it working in my car before it was removed.

2011 VW Jetta gets launched

Tue, 15 Jun 2010

The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Volkswagen reckons that this latest Jetta is no longer a Golf with a boot to make a saloon but is instead a completely new stand-alone model, even though under its new skin – inspired by the VW NCC (New Compact Coupe) concept at New York this year – it sits on a stretched (by 70mm) Golf platform. To make the Jetta stand apart from its Golf sibling VW has fitted the Jetta with an all new dashboard with aluminium highlights and a leather trimmed steering wheel. All Jettas will come equipped with AirCon and CD stereo with touchscreen SatNav an option.

First Sight: Holden Torana concept

Wed, 13 Oct 2004

Holden has stolen the limelight at the opening of the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, unveiling a ground-up concept car dubbed the Torana TT36. The concept revives a famous Australian nameplate from the 1970s - appropriate since, like the original Torana, it features rear wheel drive and a six cylinder engine. That's where the similarities end, however, as the new Torana's engine is an experimental 280kW/490Nm twin turbocharged version of the new global V6 Holden has begun manufacturing for various parts of the GM world and which will eventually be used by Alfa Romeo.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Mon, 01 Jan 2007

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars will unveil its new Phantom Drophead Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show on Sunday 7 January. A number of features first seen on 100EX, the experimental concept shown by Rolls-Royce in 2004, have been engineered into the new Phantom Drophead Coupe. Two of the most visually striking of these are the brushed steel bonnet and A-pillar and the teak decking for the rear hood cover.
