In fact, the launch of the MINI Countryman last year arguably gives MINI the ability to double their range over time by making more versions of the supersized MINI to add to the seemingly endless versions of the original BMW MINI which litter the roads. And that’s exactly what the MINI Paceman is – a concept based on the MINI Countryman.

The new Desert Warrior 3 is the result: a rally racer powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre diesel, tuned to produce between 275-300bhp depending on event restrictions, and a whole host of serious off-roading equipment to transform this from road to race car. To keep up on the track with the Vipers and Super Snakes of the world, Chevrolet has upgraded the Corvette for 2012. There's no change to the engines or their output for 2012, but you will shave a few seconds off your lap times with the newly optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure tire. Only offered on the Z06 and ZR1 models, the package includes the tires, 285/30-19 in front and 335/25-20 rear, and lightweight aluminum Cup-style wheels in satin black or machined finishes.
