Mazda today unveiled its Takeri concept car ahead of its global debut at November's 2011 Tokyo motor show. The swooping mid-sized saloon is the latest recipient of the Japanese marque's Kodo design language and drops a very heavy hint about the styling of the next Mazda 6 range, expected in 2012. Mobile phones set to be biggest roads killer

MOBILE PHONES are likely to be the number one cause of fatal collisions on the UK’s roads by 2015. The number of drivers making calls, texting and using social media while driving has risen dramatically, which has led Transport Minister Patrick McLoughlin to propose doubling the number of penalty points added to a driver’s licence if caught using a mobile phone while at the wheel. Figures from the Department for Transport show there were 378 accidents in 2012 that were directly attributed to mobile phone use, with 17 deaths recorded as a result.

2013 Mercedes SLS AMG GT revealed

Mercedes-Benz has revealed two additions to the SLS range with the Mercedes SLS AMG GT Coupe and Roadster with more power and cosmetic tweaks. It’s almost exactly a year since we had the last addition to the Mercedes SLS range when MB took the roof off the Gullwing to give us the SLS AMG Roadster. And now the range of SLS road cars is about to double with the addition of a more powerful SLS Coupe and Roadster in the guise of the new Mercedes SLS AMG GT.
